The Software Test Engineer will join the growing software engineering team and help build, test and maintain high-quality software solutions that support mission-critical products and services. This role suits someone with a solid technical foundation, a collaborative approach and a keen eye for detail who is looking to develop their skills within a complex engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and test software to support core products and internal systems
  • Produce and maintain software build and test specifications
  • Work collaboratively across teams to improve the testability and quality of software
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, customers and technical partners on software-related matters
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and practices
  • Undertake additional project or testing tasks as required by management

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Technical background with a strong understanding of the software engineering lifecycle, particularly test and integration
  • At least 1 year of practical experience testing software for PCs running Windows
  • Experience writing test plans, specifications and reports
  • Knowledge of scripting or programming languages to assist with automated testing and builds
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in building software and software installers
  • Previous work in a technical or engineering organisation
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and overseas to support testing and deployment activities

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
