Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced SEND Officer to complete the process of amending and issuing EHC plans following annual reviews. The officer will require extensive knowledge of how to produce good quality EHC plans, ensuring they are legally compliant, concise and up to date. The officer will need the ability to review reports and advice, and incorporate these into the amendments. They will also require strong communication skills as part of this role will be to contact families, schools and professionals to discuss the amendments, and review any changes prior to finalising. Good attention to detail is essential. The officer will retain a caseload of annual reviews, completing the amendments, seeking any missing information/advice, preparing for panel, and finalising the draft within a maximum of 8 weeks. The expectation from this role will be to complete approximately 10 good quality amendments per week.
Work Location & Pattern
The candidate will be expected to collect their equipment from our office in Priory House, Shefford, but will then work remotely for the duration of the contract. Standard working pattern will be expected i.e. 9 - 5, although there is some flexibility should a differing work pattern be requested, for example 8 - 4.
Interview Process
A task will be sent prior to interview to complete, this will be a short amendment to complete. The interview will be a 30 minute discussion around knowledge and experience with working with EHC plans.
