Role purpose
To lead the support, optimisation, and continuous improvement of the Group’s ERP platform, ensuring stable and effective operation of SAP across all business units. The role is responsible for providing functional expertise, supporting business-critical processes, managing integrations and enhancements, and working closely with stakeholders to maximise the value of SAP. In addition, the role will contribute to the development of the Group’s ERP roadmap, supporting future platform evolution and knowledge continuity within the ERP function.
Dimensions
- Work within small IT Team of 6 (2 x SAP, 2 x App Developers and 2 x Support / Infrastructure)
- Primary responsibility for functional support and optimisation of SAP ERP across multiple Group companies
- Support for core modules including Finance, Materials Management, Production Planning, and Sales & Distribution
- Collaboration with external support partners, and integration providers
- Contribution to ERP strategy and transformation initiatives
- No direct reports initially, with potential for future team leadership responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
ERP Operational Support
- Provide functional support and issue resolution across SAP modules
- Act as escalation point for complex or cross-functional SAP issues
- Support critical business processes including order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, production, and financial close
- Maintain system availability and performance in collaboration with the infrastructure team
Process Improvement & Enhancements
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve ERP-enabled business processes
- Gather business requirements and translate into functional specifications
- Coordinate testing, deployment, and change control activities
- Maintain accurate system and process documentation
Integration & Data Management
- Support ERP integrations including EDI, reporting extracts, and third-party interfaces
- Monitor and troubleshoot interface and data flow issues
- Ensure data quality and consistency across SAP processes
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build effective relationships with business stakeholders across Group companies
- Provide guidance, training, and support to ERP users
- Promote standardised processes and best practice system usage
ERP Strategy & Knowledge Continuity
- Support ERP roadmap development and evaluation of future platform options
- Contribute to ERP transformation initiatives and projects
- Capture and retain ERP knowledge through documentation and knowledge transfer

- Demonstrable experience supporting ERP systems within manufacturing, supply chain, or distribution environments
- Functional knowledge across key ERP processes such as finance, procurement, production, and sales
- Experience working with system integrations, EDI, or interface-based data exchange
- Experience engaging with business stakeholders to deliver system improvements
- Exposure to ERP change or transformation initiatives (desirable)
- ABAP Experience (Desirable but not essential)
- Experience with SAP environments
