D R Newitt are delighted to be supporting a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business in their search for a Quality Inspector / QC Inspector to join their growing team in the Glenrothes area. Our client is a highly respected subcontract machining company, supplying precision-engineered components to a diverse range of sectors. Due to continued growth and investment, they are looking to strengthen their quality team with the appointment of an experienced Quality Inspector.
The Role
As a Quality Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring that machined components meet customer specifications and the highest quality standards. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will carry out inspections throughout the manufacturing process and support continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct first-off, in-process and final inspections of machined components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
- Use a variety of inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and other precision measuring instruments.
- Complete inspection reports and quality documentation accurately.
- Identify and report non-conformances, supporting corrective actions where required.
- Work closely with production teams to maintain quality standards and improve manufacturing processes.
- Support customer audits and quality assurance activities as required.
About You
- Previous experience working as a Quality Inspector, QC Inspector or similar within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.
- Competent in the use of manual inspection and measuring equipment.
- Experience inspecting machined components would be highly advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
