We’re looking for a Project Director or Senior Project Manager to join a leading consultancy specialising in the data centre space, based in London! The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a Senior Project Manager or Project Director, delivering complex construction projects, particularly within the data centre sector. This role will involve overseeing all aspects of the project from design through to completion, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The Project Director / Senior Project Manager will work closely with stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure the project meets client expectations and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities of being a client-side Project Director / Senior Project Manager:

  • Lead and manage the entire data centre project, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout, ensuring timely completion within budget
  • Coordinate all project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, and facilitate regular meetings to ensure progress and resolve issues
  • Manage the project budget, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial constraints throughout the project
  • Ensure the project meets regulatory requirements, quality standards, and conduct regular inspections to verify compliance
  • Identify potential risks early and implement corrective actions, ensuring effective management of changes in project scope, budget, and schedule
  • Lead the project team, providing guidance and motivation, and ensure a smooth handover to the client, including all necessary documentation and certifications

The Project Director / Senior Project Manager will have the following:

  • Proven experience working as a Senior Project Manager or Project Director on hyperscale data centre construction projects
  • Strong client-side background (developer or operator)
  • Experience working within complex markets in the UK or Europe; UK-based experience preferred
