If you thrive on navigating complexity, influencing senior stakeholders and delivering high‑risk programmes that really matter, this role will stretch and reward you in equal measure. You will be trusted to lead a critical, high‑profile cladding remediation programme, reporting at senior level and operating as the intelligent client across multiple delivery partners, consultants and internal services. This is not a self‑delivery environment.
You will be brought in to provide grip, pace and confidence across a programme where governance, assurance, grant conditions and risk management are non‑negotiable. You’ll be the person who brings people with you, even when the message is uncomfortable, and ensures decisions are made with eyes wide open.
Your role as Technical Programme Lead – Cladding Remediation:
- Leading a complex cladding remediation programme, managing multiple workstreams, consultants and contractors
- Acting as the client, not the contractor – setting direction, holding others to account and ensuring value for money
- Navigating local authority governance, reporting, assurance and decision‑making processes
- Managing grant funding, compliance and financial risk across the programme
- Driving change management, helping stakeholders move away from traditional in‑house delivery models
You will coordinate procurement, programme management and technical services, ensuring all parties are aligned and performing. You’ll understand where risk truly sits, how to surface it early, and how to take senior leaders on the journey rather than letting issues drift.
Your previous experience:
- Proven delivery of cladding remediation or complex building safety programmes
- Strong background in procurement, commercial services and outsourced delivery models
- Clear understanding of the difference between being a client and a project manager
- Experience operating within a local authority or similar public‑sector environment
- Confidence influencing senior stakeholders who may be cautious about external advice
This is a role for someone pragmatic, resilient and credible – someone who can challenge constructively and won’t be ignored. The Technical Programme Lead – Cladding Remediation will play a pivotal role in ensuring residents’ safety, financial assurance and programme credibility.
