Private Client Solicitor / Lawyer
Salary: £40,000 to £80,000 DOE
Location: Essex area (multiple offices)

Our client is expanding their Private Client team across the Essex area and is keen to speak with Private Client Lawyers at multiple levels, from NQ through to experienced fee earners. The Opportunity
You’ll join a busy, supportive Private Client department with a strong reputation and a clear focus on quality work and client care. This role offers the chance to take ownership of your matters while being backed by experienced colleagues and a well-established pipeline of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied Private Client caseload from instruction to completion
- Advising clients with empathy and clarity, including complex and sensitive matters
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents with excellent attention to detail
- Building strong relationships with clients and introducers
- Contributing to departmental growth through networking and marketing activity (where appropriate)
- Ensuring files are maintained to a high standard and in line with regulatory requirements
Work Types (Private Client)
Experience should include a mix of the following:
- Wills
- Trusts
- Probate and estate administration
- Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
- Estate planning and later life planning
Requirements (Essential)
- Qualified Solicitor / Legal Executive (CILEx) or equivalent in England & Wales
- NQ to 8+ years’ PQE considered (role level aligned to experience)
- UK practice experience within Private Client
- Ability to manage your own caseload with appropriate supervision
- Strong technical drafting skills (wills, LPAs, probate documentation)
- Excellent client care and communication (sensitive, practical, professional)
- Comfortable using case management systems and Microsoft Office
Desirable:
- Experience with business development, networking, or marketing activity
- STEP qualification or working towards STEP (advantageous, not essential)
