We are on the lookout for a Multi‑Skilled Operative - Extruder Operator to join our friendly team at Ryvita. As part of the ABF group, we have ambitious plans for growth over the next 5 years and we need someone with the drive and passion to help us get there. The core focus of this role is to take ownership of the safe, smooth and efficient operation of machinery within the Bakery and to operate equipment within the agreed parameters and Bakery targets. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for responsibility in setting up and operating extruders, producing high quality Crackerbread.
Key Accountabilities
- To operate machinery to agreed parameters
- To work to Bakery Standard Operating Procedures
- To demonstrate Personal Accountability within the site and ensure that all Health, Safety & Environmental requirements are met
- To ensure at all times safe working practices or reports unsafe acts or conditions
- Responsible for adhering to safe systems of work processes and acting in a safe manner to protect the health and safety of yourself and others at all times
- Follow all Quality systems and procedures to ensure our products meet food safety (HACCP), legal and customer requirements as well as maintaining external standards eg BRC, IFS, Femas
After Training Responsibilities
- Set up the extruder for the correct recipe and monitor the extrusion process, adjusting the product and baking controls where necessary
- Conduct all necessary checks during the extrusion process and record them on relevant paperwork
- Rectifying simple extruder operational faults and report more complex faults to Team Leader and Engineering Team
- Develop a thorough understanding of the extrusion process and equipment to enhance performance and reduce waste
- Follow the safety procedures and respond appropriately to any emergency situations
