Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team at a busy GP surgery in Lichfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing blood collection duties, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. This role is full-time, requiring five days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venepuncture on patients of all ages following best practice guidelines.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the blood collection process.
  • Label and handle blood samples according to protocols for accurate identification.
  • Manage stock levels of phlebotomy supplies and ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Record procedures in patient records and maintain confidentiality.
  • Assist other clinical staff as needed and support with general administrative tasks if required.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Certificate in Phlebotomy with demonstrable experience in a healthcare setting, preferably a GP surgery or similar.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach toward patients.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and a proactive attitude toward daily responsibilities.
