An established education provider in Northampton is seeking a compassionate and motivated Job Coach to support young people with additional learning needs as they transition into the workplace and move towards sustainable paid employment. The Role

You will work closely with students, employers, and support teams to help young people succeed in supported internships and work placements. The role combines mentoring, coaching, workplace support, and employer engagement to create positive employment experiences for individuals with additional needs. You’ll support interns both in college and within workplace settings, helping them develop practical job skills, confidence, independence, and employability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Match students to suitable work placement opportunities
  • Support young people within workplace environments and during internships
  • Build strong relationships with employers and external support agencies
  • Deliver workplace coaching and mentoring using structured learning approaches
  • Carry out workplace assessments and identify appropriate support strategies
  • Promote independence, including travel training where appropriate
  • Support employers in understanding inclusive working practices
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and wellbeing standards are upheld at all times

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is patient, proactive, and genuinely passionate about supporting young people with additional needs. You will ideally have:

  • Experience supporting young people with learning disabilities or additional needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a wider support team
  • Excellent organisation and record-keeping abilities
  • A flexible approach to working hours when required
  • A full UK driving licence and ability to travel locally
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above or equivalent)
  • Experience within supported employment, coaching, education, care, or employability programmes would be highly beneficial.
