We’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain a critical on‑premise infrastructure environment. This position is ideal for someone with strong expertise across VMware, backup technologies and storage solutions, with the confidence to operate in a busy, production‑focused setting.

This role is a hybrid position (2 days a week in the office) and can be based out of Northampton or Yorkshire. You’ll take ownership of BAU activities while also contributing to projects and backend infrastructure initiatives.

Required Experience
  • Strong hands‑on experience administering and supporting Windows Server (2016–2022)
  • Solid knowledge of VMware vSphere / ESXi in enterprise environments
  • Practical experience with SAN storage and zoning (SAN / Dell PowerStore)
  • Proven background working with backup technologies and recovery operations (Dell PPDM)
  • Comfortable working in an on‑prem, change‑driven environment handling BAU support
Key Responsibilities
  • Support, administer and maintain Windows Server environments up to Server 2022
  • Manage and optimise VMware virtual infrastructure, including ESXi hosts
  • Configure and maintain storage zoning to ensure correct connectivity (SAN / Dell PowerStore)
  • Administer, monitor and troubleshoot backup and recovery solutions (Dell PPDM)
  • Provide day‑to‑day infrastructure support, maintenance and fault resolution
  • Contribute to platform improvements, upgrades and best‑practice initiatives
  • Deliver 3rd‑line support and act as a technical escalation point
