Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 DOE + Performance Bonus
We are looking for a File Handler to manage a caseload of Uninsured Loss Recovery (ULR) claims – mainly vehicle damage and credit hire recovery – from start to finish. You will run around 100–140 files, progress cases efficiently, and achieve strong outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Review new instructions and manage a caseload of 100–140 files
- Handle enquiries from clients, introducers, and third parties
- Maintain accurate file records and key dates (e.g. limitation)
- Negotiate with insurers, solicitors, engineers, and hire companies
- Prepare cases for court proceedings and issue court papers
- Conduct litigation up to and including final hearings
- Assess case prospects and gather supporting evidence
Candidate Requirements
- Previous credit hire and/or litigation experience preferred
- Other relevant claims handling experience also considered
- Knowledge of legal concepts and civil procedure rules
- Excellent client care, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Strong IT skills (MS Office, time recording systems)
- Highly organised with ability to meet deadlines
- Team player with a proactive approach
Salary & Benefits
