Salary: £45,000 to £65,000 plus discretionary bonus
Experience: 1–6 years’ PQE
If you’re a qualified solicitor in litigation and want a role that is genuinely varied, fast-paced and client-facing, this is a brilliant opportunity to join an established Social Housing Litigation team in Newcastle. You’ll support senior lawyers across a broad range of social housing matters, working closely with key clients including housing associations and local authorities.
The Opportunity
- Manage and advise on litigation relating to tenancy breaches and anti-social behaviour
- Handle possession and injunction applications
- Defend housing disrepair claims brought by tenants
- Advise on tenancy clauses, succession, mutual exchange and assignment issues
- Attend and represent clients at court hearings
- Contribute to business development initiatives to strengthen and expand client relationships
- Supervise and support junior members of the litigation team where appropriate
About You
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales
- Experience in social housing litigation
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost and benefit
- Ability to work to challenging timescales while maintaining excellent client service
- Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills
- Sound professional judgement and a proactive approach
- Effective diary and administration management, including time recording
- Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to work with urgency
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

- Salary of £45,000 to £65,000 plus discretionary bonus
