An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a stylish Italian restaurant near Newbury. This role is perfect for a chef who is passionate about authentic Italian cuisine and enjoys working in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment. The restaurant serves 500 to 600 covers per week and is known for combining traditional Italian flavours with refined presentation.

You’ll work closely with the Head Chef to maintain high standards, support the brigade and help drive the kitchen forward. The team values positivity, resilience and a strong work ethic, and they are looking for a Sous Chef who can lead by example and thrive during busy services. Due to the restaurant’s location, you must be able to drive.

Responsibilities as the Sous Chef:

  • Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen

  • Assisting with stock control, ordering and maintaining kitchen organisation
  • Upholding excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards

We’re looking for:

  • Experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef within a quality-led kitchen
  • A genuine passion for Italian cuisine and fresh ingredients
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Someone calm under pressure with a positive and proactive attitude
