Our client near Royston are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Pipe Fitter to install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair mechanical piping systems. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of blueprints and various types of piping materials. This role is crucial to the construction and maintenance of commercial, industrial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine the layout of piping systems.
- Cut, thread, bend, and assemble pipes using hand & power tools.
- Install and secure pipes, fixtures, and other components according to project specifications & safety regulations.
- Inspect work sites for potential hazards and follow all safety protocols.
- Repair and maintain existing piping systems as needed.
- Document work performed and materials used.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a pipe fitter or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with different types of pipes (e.g., PVC, carbon steel, copper, stainless steel).
- Ability to read/interpret technical drawings/blueprints.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Welding ability is a plus.
Hours of Work and Pay
Up to £18/hr DOE 7am to 3.30pm (40 hr week) Immediate start available
