My client provides bespoke Lighting and engineering solutions for manufacture. They are looking for a Product Design Engineer to join their team in the North London area on a permanent basis.
The Product Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering / Mechanical/Electrical Design / Industrial Design / Engineering Design or similar
- 4 or more years’ industry experience ideally working in a similar industrial design / development role within a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with using 3D CAD software ideally Inventor or AutoCAD software for design
- Knowledge and experience with Lighting solutions is beneficial but not necessary
- Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
- Experienced designing products from concept to production
- Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
- Knowledge of different materials such as sheet metal fabrication
- Innovative and passionate about design
- Be technically minded with a head for problem solving
- Able to work well individually as well as part of a team
The Product Design Engineer role will involve:
- Being responsible for the design and development of various products and structures
- Using Inventor and AutoCAD software for design on a day-to-day basis
- Developing ideas from concept to production
- Creating models/prototypes
- Liaising with clients and developing solutions
- Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
- Maintaining technical drawings and documentation
- Providing technical guidance and support
- Supporting product Testing, Verification & Validation
