The Opportunity
As a Tax Senior, you will join a specialist tax team supporting a portfolio of SMEs and owner-managed businesses (OMBs). The role is heavily advisory-focused, giving you exposure to planning work across a broad range of tax matters while continuing to strengthen your compliance foundation. You will work directly with senior team members, gaining hands-on experience that will support your progression to Tax Manager and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering tax advisory projects across corporate and personal tax
- Support senior colleagues on tax planning assignments and strategic client work
- Identify tax planning opportunities within existing client portfolios
- Attend client meetings, contributing insights and building relationships
- Conduct technical research and produce clear, practical written advice
- Leverage compliance work to inform high-quality advisory recommendations
- Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to provide integrated client solutions
- Maintain high standards of client service and contribute to team success
About You
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:
- CTA qualified (or within 0–2 years PQE)
- 3–6 years’ UK practice experience in tax
- Strong grounding in tax compliance, ideally within accountancy practice
- Experience working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses
- Broad understanding of UK tax legislation (corporate and personal tax)
- Exposure to tax advisory work (desirable but not essential)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive mindset with a clear ambition to build a career in tax advisory
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
