Salary: £45,000 to £65,000 plus discretionary bonus

Experience: 1–6 years’ PQE

If you’re a qualified solicitor in litigation and want a role that is genuinely varied, fast-paced and client-facing, this is a brilliant opportunity to join an established Social Housing Litigation team in Manchester. You’ll support senior lawyers across a broad range of social housing matters, working closely with key clients including housing associations and local authorities.

The Opportunity

  • Manage and advise on litigation relating to tenancy breaches and anti-social behaviour
  • Handle possession and injunction applications
  • Defend housing disrepair claims brought by tenants
  • Advise on tenancy clauses, succession, mutual exchange and assignment issues
  • Attend and represent clients at court hearings
  • Contribute to business development initiatives to strengthen and expand client relationships
  • Supervise and support junior members of the litigation team where appropriate

About You

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales
  • Experience in social housing litigation
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost and benefit
  • Ability to work to challenging timescales while maintaining excellent client service
  • Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills
  • Sound professional judgement and a proactive approach
  • Effective diary and administration management, including time recording
  • Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to work with urgency
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
