This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced private client professional to step into a Head of Probate role, combining hands-on technical work with genuine people leadership.
Our client is looking for someone who can confidently manage a well-established team while maintaining high standards of client care and file management. You will take ownership of the Probate function, with responsibility for both team leadership and day-to-day fee earning. The team is already in place and experienced, so this role suits someone who enjoys coaching, setting standards, and keeping a department running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities- Leading and developing a team of 8 experienced colleagues across a range of levels
- Managing workflow, capacity, and file allocation to maintain service levels
- Maintaining strong technical oversight and quality control across matters
- Handling your own caseload, including probate and estate administration matters
- Supporting process improvement and consistent ways of working
- Building trusted relationships with clients and maintaining excellent client care
- Contributing to the wider development of the department and the firm
- 5+ years PQE with strong, hands-on probate and estate administration experience
- Proven management or supervision experience, with confidence leading a team
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a busy environment
- A calm, practical approach and a genuine interest in developing others
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- Salary of £55,000
