An established and forward-thinking UK food manufacturer is seeking a Specifications Technologist to join its growing Technical team. The business supplies high-quality chilled and food-to-go products to major supermarket retailers and is widely recognised for its innovation, commitment to quality, and passion for great food.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing accurate and compliant product specifications, packaging, and labels. Working closely with Technical and NPD teams, you’ll ensure all ingredients, raw materials, and finished products meet legal and customer standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain product, ingredient, and packaging specifications
  • Ensure all data is accurate, legal, and customer-compliant
  • Manage retailer specification systems and technical databases
  • Support artwork and labelling approval processes
  • Conduct supplier and ingredient risk assessments
  • Support allergen, HACCP, and BRC compliance activities

About You

  • Experience in food manufacturing or technical administration
  • Strong knowledge of retailer specification systems (e.g., Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s)
  • Understanding of food labelling regulations and BRC standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and managing data
