What the Role Involves:

• Delivering targeted one‐to‐one and small‐group Physics mentoring sessions across KS3, KS4, and sixth form
• Supporting pupils working below expected levels or preparing for GCSE and A‐Level Physics examinations
• Helping pupils develop their conceptual understanding, mathematical application, and confidence in practical Physics
• Tracking individual pupil progress and feeding back regularly to the class teacher and Head of Science
• Building confident, academically focused relationships with pupils and sixth form students to develop their Physics ambition and self‐belief

What the School is Looking For:

The ideal Physics Academic Mentor will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university in Physics or a closely related STEM discipline. Previous child‐centred experience in a UK educational setting is highly valued. The school is seeking a knowledgeable, patient, and enthusiastic Physics Academic Mentor with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for Physics education at every level.

Salary and Contract Info:

• £450 to £530 per week, pro rata to term time only
• Full‐time, long‐term contract from September 2026 to July 2027
• Term‐time only
• Potential for future teacher training or extended contracts following a successful placement
