About the Role
- Day-to-day management of the tax department, including workflow, team guidance, and quality assurance
- Preparation and submission of personal tax compliance for a varied client base (high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, professionals)
- Reviewing and overseeing the work of team members to ensure technical accuracy and compliance
- Providing coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support to junior staff
- Advising on complex personal tax issues (capital gains tax, inheritance tax, residency)
- Maintaining strong client relationships through proactive advice and identification of advisory opportunities
- Keeping up to date with personal tax legislation and HMRC requirements
- Ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met efficiently and effectively
What We’re Looking For
- ATT qualified (minimum); CTA or equivalent experience highly desirable
- At least 5 years’ UK accountancy practice experience in personal tax
- Demonstrable experience managing a portfolio of clients and reviewing team output
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high professional standards
- Confident communicator and effective team leader
- Excellent organisational and workflow management skills
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of personal tax compliance and advisory
- Familiarity with HMRC requirements and evolving tax legislation
- Experience with tax software and digital recordkeeping (desirable)
