Managing Associate / Associate – Planning & Infrastructure Consenting Team, Leeds
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on Development Consent Orders in energy, transport and water sectors.
- Advising on Transport and Works Act Orders for rail and light rail projects.
- Supporting public inquiries, examinations and secondary legislation drafting.
- Providing strategic advice on consents, optioneering routes and land assembly strategies.
- Managing client relationships, stakeholder engagement and high-value consenting mandates.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
- At least 3 years PQE with infrastructure consenting experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of planning law, experience with DCOs, transport orders, harbour orders.
- Experience drafting secondary legislation, supporting public inquiries, optioneering.
- Commercially focused, excellent drafting, stakeholder management, efficient diary.
Highly Desirable
- Experience with hybrid Bills and energy transmission projects.
- Experience with ports, airports, light/heavy rail.
- Large international law firm environment, high-value complex projects.
