Overview
Are you a senior security engineer ready to step into a lead role where you can still stay hands on, while overseeing quality, standards and delivery across major integration projects? We are working with a well established and growing security integrator who are looking to appoint a Lead Engineer to support and oversee high value security integration projects across the UK, with a strong focus on a flagship central London client and a project spend exceeding £1m. This role sits above the delivery engineers and alongside project managers, acting as the technical authority on site and ensuring installations are delivered to the highest standard.
The Role
This is a true lead engineer position, combining hands on technical involvement with senior oversight. You will be visible on site, guiding engineers, supporting project managers and stepping in where required to ensure quality, compliance and client expectations are met. You will not be office bound. This is a role for someone who enjoys being on site, problem solving, mentoring engineers and taking ownership of delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing and assuring the quality of security system installations across UK projects
- Acting as the senior technical point of contact on site
- Providing guidance and support to engineers during installation and commissioning
- Working closely with project managers to support planning, sequencing and risk management
- Attending London project sites weekly
- Ensuring health and safety, quality and compliance standards are consistently met
- Supporting fault finding, testing and final handover where required
- Driving consistency and best practice across engineering delivery
Systems Environment
You will be working across enterprise level integrated systems including Lenel, Genetec, Gallagher, Milestone, Avigilon, Axis, delivering large scale IP CCTV and access control solutions.
About You
- Strong background as a senior or lead security engineer within security integration
- Proven experience working with enterprise level access control and CCTV platforms
- Comfortable leading engineers and supporting less experienced team members
- Confident working alongside project managers and clients
- Hands on, practical and solution focused
- Excellent communicator with strong site presence
- Based within a commutable distance to London and happy with hybrid office and site working
