A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Housing Solicitor (1+ PQE) to join our client’s highly regarded and expanding Housing & Social Care team in London. The Role – Diverse, Challenging and Rewarding
As a Housing Solicitor, you will manage your own caseload from the outset, handling a varied mix of legally aided matters. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a busy caseload of housing law matters, including homelessness, disrepair, possession and eviction cases
- Advising clients on housing rights, policy issues and legal aid eligibility
- Conducting advocacy where appropriate
- Supporting complex and strategic litigation matters
- Collaborating with colleagues in a high-performing, open-plan team environment
- Exposure to community care and public law matters will be available for those interested in broadening their expertise.
About You – Skills & Experience Required
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 1+ years’ PQE
- Proven UK practice experience in housing law (essential)
- Strong understanding of legal aid processes and funding
- Knowledge of current housing legislation, policy and case law
- Excellent client care skills, particularly when working with vulnerable individuals
- Ability to manage a caseload independently and efficiently
- Desirable (not essential): experience in community care and/or public law
