We are working with a national facilities management contractor who have an excellent industry reputation, look after their staff well and have very established and stable contracts nationally. Due to continued expansion we are currently looking to recruit a Small Works Estimator to join the team.
Role
- Manage the estimating process on multiple small works projects across a spectrum of work types including elements such as:
- Liaising within house engineers to obtain necessary information
- Obtaining quotations and evaluating quote returns
- Negotiate/validate prices and obtain quotes for works, materials and plant
- Ensuring a healthy supply chain is maintained
- Presenting/demonstrating costs upstream to the Client and dealing with all queries returned in a timely and professional manner.
- Assisting the commercial team in appointing subcontractors and issuing basic subcontract orders.
- Responsible for financial performance of contract/s and maximise margin
- Working with the operational team to ensure all variations are captured and approved.
- Responsible for developing client relationships to ensure retention of contract and future opportunities in different areas.
- Provide technical support to the client and admin support staff.
- Oversee the preparation and agreement of priced schedules of work utilising existing schedules of rates.
- Understanding of general building technology and construction processes would be advantageous.
Person
- Knowledge of software systems, clients CAFM systems & previous experience of working within a retail FM contract would be advantageous.
- Experience in previous estimating role
- Good planning and organisation skills and the ability to prioritise own workload efficiently
- Understanding of FM business or the willingness to learn
- Strong communication skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office including Excel and Outlook
Package
- Base salary to £30,500
- Monday - Friday – 37.5 hour week (9am till 5pm – Flexibility to 9am-4pm)
- 4 Days in the office, 1 at Home
- 33 days annual leave plus bank holidays
