About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a specialist subcontractor delivering high‑quality aluminium curtain walling, glazing, windows, and door packages across the East Midlands and wider UK. This role requires strong, proven experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors, with a solid understanding of commercial construction environments, procurement processes, and competitive tendering. You will be working on a variety of projects ranging from £1m to £5m, using leading façade and window systems including Kawneer, Senior Architectural Systems, and Technal, and producing estimates using LogiKal software.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for curtain walling, glazing, and aluminium window/door packages.
- Use LogiKal software to produce detailed and technically accurate quotations and system outputs.
- Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and employer’s requirements in detail.
- Carry out detailed take‑offs and material schedules.
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Build up labour, plant, and material costs for tenders.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
- Work closely with commercial and pre‑construction teams on bid submissions.
- Attend tender review meetings and support handover to delivery teams.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within façades, glazing, or aluminium systems.
- Strong experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors is essential.
- Good technical knowledge of Kawneer, Senior Architectural Systems, and Technal products.
- Proficient in LogiKal for estimating and system design outputs.
- Experience pricing curtain walling, glazing, and aluminium systems in the £1m–£5m range.
- Strong understanding of construction procurement and contract processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- High attention to detail and strong numerical capability.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
