H-FTS is partnering with our client, a well-established independent accountancy practice in the Lancaster area, to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This role would suit an AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ACA professional with around 2+ years’ UK practice experience who is looking to take the next step in their accountancy career.
The OpportunityAs Senior Accountant, you will manage a varied workload across accounts preparation, bookkeeping review, VAT, and year-end support whilst building strong client relationships across a diverse portfolio. You will work closely with experienced managers and senior staff in a supportive environment that encourages development, autonomy, and progression.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare year-end accounts for a varied client portfolio
- Review bookkeeping records and VAT returns
- Support clients with day-to-day accounting queries
- Assist with management accounts and financial reporting
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Ensure work is delivered accurately and within deadlines
- Support managers with portfolio delivery and workflow management
- Identify opportunities to improve client processes and efficiencies
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
- AAT qualification or ACA/ACCA part qualification
- Minimum 2+ years’ UK accountancy practice experience
- Experience preparing year-end accounts and VAT returns
- Strong working knowledge of Xero
- Experience with CCH software would be advantageous
- Good bookkeeping knowledge and attention to detail
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- A proactive and team-oriented approach
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience working with clients in sectors such as agriculture, professional services, hospitality, or leisure would be beneficial.
- Salary of £40,000 - £48,000 DOE
