We are currently seeking an organised and proactive Service Scheduler / Operations Coordinator to support the planning and coordination of servicing, maintenance, breakdowns, and repair activities for plant machinery and equipment. This role will involve managing incoming job requests, allocating work to field engineers, coordinating parts and resources, and ensuring customers are kept informed throughout the process. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining service levels, reducing downtime, and ensuring all works are completed within agreed timescales.
Main Responsibilities
- Receive and process service, maintenance, repair, and breakdown requests
- Schedule work to engineers based on location, availability, technical ability, and priority
- Ensure all jobs are planned in line with agreed response times and service requirements
- Review upcoming works to ensure all necessary parts, information, and site access details are prepared in advance
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure materials are available before attendance
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding appointments, delays, updates, and job progress
- Monitor ongoing works, incomplete jobs, return visits, and outstanding parts requirements
- Provide engineers with accurate job information and relevant site-specific details
- Update internal systems with progress notes, status changes, completion updates, and engineer feedback
- Identify jobs at risk of delay and escalate where necessary
- Assist in reducing failed visits by ensuring jobs are fully prepared before engineers attend site
- Work closely with operations, engineering, parts, and customer support teams
- Maintain accurate records for reporting, compliance, and operational tracking purposes

- Previous experience scheduling engineers, technicians, fitters, or field-based staff would be advantageous
- Knowledge of plant equipment, servicing, repairs, or maintenance environments would be beneficial but is not essential
