A welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Croydon is seeking a compassionate Reception 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a child with underlying SEND needs who is likely to undergo a formal diagnosis for ASC and ADHD.

- Job Role | Learning Support Assistant
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Reception pupil presenting with challenging behaviour.
- Build a trusting relationship to help the child feel safe, engaged and ready to learn.
- Use calming, distraction and de-escalation strategies during periods of dysregulation.
- Encourage positive social interactions, communication and emotional regulation.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and parents to support the child's development.
- What you need | Learning Support Assistant
- A 2:1 or First-Class degree from a leading UK university is desirable.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
- Calm, patient and resilient, with the confidence to remain positive in challenging situations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- Previous experience working with children, SEND or challenging behaviour is advantageous but not essential.
