We are hiring for our client, a long-established and highly respected food manufacturing business within the agri-food sector, who are experiencing sustained growth driven by demand for healthy and innovative products.
This Shift Manager role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious production professional to take the next step in their career. The successful Shift Manager will lead, motivate, and develop a team of operatives to deliver production targets safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while promoting a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
The Role
- Lead and manage production teams to achieve daily output, efficiency, and quality targets
- Monitor production processes to ensure full compliance with food safety and quality standards
- Identify and resolve production issues quickly to minimise downtime and maintain efficiency
- Train, mentor, and develop team members in safety, hygiene, and production best practices
- Take ownership for product quality, safety, and right-first-time production
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Despatch teams to ensure smooth site operations
The Person
- Proven experience in a supervisory or Shift Manager role within food manufacturing
- Strong leadership and people-management capability
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to food safety and quality
- Confident decision-maker in a fast-paced production environment
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Desirable: Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement tools
- Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely)
- Strong mechanical awareness and ability to troubleshoot minor issues
