What You’ll Be Doing
- You will take a lead role in growing the Construction offering in Leeds, with the autonomy and trust to make decisions and drive outcomes.
- Key parts of the role will include:
- Advising on a broad range of construction and infrastructure matters, acting for employers, developers, contractors and consultants.
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on construction documentation (including building contracts, professional appointments, warranties and collateral agreements).
- Advising on project risk, procurement strategy and contract management, with a practical, commercial approach.
- Supporting colleagues across the wider firm, including real estate, corporate and disputes, on construction-related issues.
- Building and strengthening client relationships, with meaningful influence over service delivery.
- Playing an active role in shaping team direction, business development activity and the wider growth strategy.
- Mentoring and developing colleagues, helping to build a high-performing, quality-led culture.
What We’re Looking For
- We’re looking for a Partner who combines strong technical ability with commercial instinct and a people‑first approach. You’ll ideally bring:
- Partner level experience in Construction law (or a Senior Associate or Legal Director ready for partnership).
- A modest client following, or a clear and credible plan to build one quickly.
- Strong experience advising businesses, with the confidence to lead client relationships.
- A practical, solutions‑led style, with a focus on clarity, efficiency and high quality outcomes.
- The ability to work independently, while enjoying a collaborative, supportive environment.
