We are hiring for our client for a Compliance Technologist to join a growing Technical team within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This Compliance Technologist role will play a key part in ensuring the site’s Food Safety & Quality Management Systems are maintained and continuously improved in line with BRC, customer and legislative requirements. The successful Compliance Technologist will support audit readiness, internal compliance activities, traceability, HACCP administration and food safety culture initiatives across the site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in food manufacturing quality or technical operations who is looking to further develop their career within compliance and food safety.

The Role

  • Manage the microbiological testing schedule, ensuring samples are collected, booked and trended accurately
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the Quality Management System in line with customer and third-party standards
  • Carry out training and competency assessments for site staff on QMS procedures and policies
  • Conduct internal audits and support corrective action and continuous improvement activities
  • Manage and maintain the site calibration schedule
  • Support TACCP activities alongside the Food Safety & Integrity Coordinator
  • Support HACCP administration, meetings and documentation updates
  • Assist with internal audit management activities
  • Support product recall and withdrawal procedures including mock recalls
  • Assist with commissioning of new equipment and associated compliance documentation
  • Maintain site maps and site risk assessments
  • Participate in Food Safety & Quality Culture initiatives across the site
  • Assist with external audit preparation, customer visits and traceability exercises
  • Support customer requests and compliance-related activities as required

The Person

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a food, science or technical discipline
  • Minimum 1 year experience within food manufacturing
  • Familiarity with food safety systems aligned to GFSI standards including BRC
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and positive attitude
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office packages
  • Flexible approach to working hours when required by the business
