Our client is recruiting a Conveyancing Assistant to join a busy Residential and New Build Property team in Castleford. This is a hands-on, client-facing role for someone who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment, supporting fee earners on a high volume of sale and purchase matters. If you take pride in being accurate, organised and approachable with clients, this is a great opportunity to build a long-term career in conveyancing within a supportive team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Opening new files, inputting instructions on the case management system, and producing relevant letters and documents
  • Updating the case management system in line with team procedures as matters progress
  • Issuing contracts on sale files and assisting with replies to enquiries
  • Ordering searches
  • Supporting exchanges and related paperwork
  • Setting up completions
  • Issuing mortgage reports to clients
  • Handling incoming post where appropriate
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries where possible
  • General admin support including filing, billing, copying, sorting post and archiving

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 12 months’ experience in conveyancing, specifically sales and purchase work
  • Experience in a similar fast-paced role with high volume and regular client contact
  • Strong keyboard skills and confidence working with case management systems
  • Accurate, organised approach and the ability to follow instructions carefully
  • Confident handling enquiries in a friendly, professional way
  • Able to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Flexible, adaptable and comfortable working under pressure
  • Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
