An exciting opportunity for a senior Governance Lead to join a fast-growing, innovative organisation operating in the compliance, risk, and operational performance sector. Working closely with the CEO and executive team, this role plays a key part in shaping governance, strengthening resilience, and supporting strategic growth. This is a hands-on leadership role covering contracts, risk, compliance, insurance, and supplier governance, with both strategic and operational influence.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts
- Provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice to senior stakeholders
- Support strategic initiatives, partnerships and commercial decision-making
- Develop and maintain governance frameworks, policies and controls
- Maintain contract registers, templates and governance processes
- Advise on legal, operational and compliance risks and contribute to the corporate risk register
- Support governance reporting, board documentation and decision-making materials
- Lead or support audits, compliance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage insurance policies, renewals and broker relationships
- Oversee incident notifications and claims processes ensuring timely submission
- Support supplier governance, including contract reviews, due diligence and ESG compliance
- Promote a culture of accountability, transparency and high ethical standards
- Provide training and guidance across the organisation on governance and compliance
- Significant experience in governance, compliance, legal or procurement roles
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
- Solid understanding of governance frameworks and risk management
- Experience working closely with senior leadership teams
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance legal and business needs
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach with high integrity
- Exposure to ESG, data protection or supply chain governance
- Relevant professional qualification (legal, procurement or similar)
