We are currently working with a well‑established engineering and manufacturing company to appoint a Buyer on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This role will support procurement and supply chain activities across a busy production environment, ensuring materials and components are sourced efficiently to meet operational requirements. This is a flexible position offering adaptable working hours, making it well suited to candidates seeking a strong work–life balance within a structured contract role.
Key Responsibilities
- Placing and managing purchase orders in line with operational demand
- Liaising with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, and delivery schedules
- Monitoring stock levels and supporting continuity of supply
- Supporting cost control initiatives and value‑for‑money purchasing
- Resolving supplier queries and delivery issues as they arise
- Maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation
- Working closely with internal teams including production and planning
The Person
- Previous experience in a Buyer or Purchasing role (engineering or manufacturing environment preferred)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
