Key job responsibilities
This role involves providing technical support to the Science department, ensuring that teachers and pupils have the equipment, resources, and safe working environment needed to deliver high-quality science education. As a Science Technician, you will prepare, maintain, and organise practical equipment and materials for lessons, while also supporting the safe use of laboratories in line with health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications, experience, and skills required
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science and Mathematics
- Health & Safety training, COSHH awareness and CLEAPSS guidance
- Degree in Science is desirable
- Experience working in a laboratory environment
- Previous work experience within a school setting
- Knowledge of safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and equipment
- A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
- The school would particularly welcome applicants with a background in Physics, who can bring additional expertise in supporting Physics A Level practicals
