A specialist education provider is seeking an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to join a growing multi-disciplinary clinical team supporting children and young people with complex additional needs. This role is based within a specialist independent day school for pupils aged 5–16, supporting children with a range of special educational needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and communication needs.

The Role

Working collaboratively within a therapeutic education environment, you will provide specialist Speech & Language Therapy support to children and young people with complex presentations, including:

  • Autism spectrum conditions
  • ADHD
  • Speech, language and communication needs
  • Developmental trauma
  • Social, emotional and behavioural needs
  • Neurodevelopmental conditions

As part of an integrated clinical team, you will support educational and care staff to create clinically informed learning environments and deliver targeted therapeutic interventions to improve outcomes for pupils.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specialist speech and language assessments and interventions
  • Supporting pupils through individual and group therapy
  • Providing consultation, advice, and training to education and care teams
  • Supporting the implementation of therapeutic strategies across the setting
  • Contributing to care planning and multi-disciplinary collaboration
  • Supporting and guiding less experienced team members where appropriate

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Hold a recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy
  • Be registered with the HCPC
  • Have significant experience working with children and young people with complex needs
  • Demonstrate strong clinical knowledge and therapeutic intervention skills
  • Have experience supporting professionals around a child or young person
  • Be confident delivering training, guidance, and consultation to teams
  • Be organised, proactive, and able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Be committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel where required
