Are you a hands-on Health & Safety professional looking for an opportunity to make a genuine impact within a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We’re recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer to join a well-established and growing business operating within the food production and manufacturing sector. This is a varied operational role supporting Health & Safety across production facilities and customer-facing sites, helping to drive compliance, continuous improvement and a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.

This role would suit someone who enjoys being visible on-site, working closely with operational teams and influencing best practice across a busy manufacturing environment.

The Role

Working closely with management and site teams, you’ll take ownership of a wide range of Health & Safety activities, helping ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting site inspections, audits and workplace assessments across operational locations
  • Completing and reviewing risk assessments, identifying hazards and implementing control measures
  • Developing and maintaining Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and operational safety procedures
  • Supporting compliance across COSHH, manual handling, PPE, emergency procedures, workplace welfare and general manufacturing safety standards
  • Leading and supporting accident, incident and near miss investigations, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement
  • Delivering Health & Safety training, coaching and awareness initiatives to colleagues and management teams
  • Supporting Health & Safety reporting, policy development, audits and statutory compliance activities
  • Helping build and maintain a strong, practical and proactive safety culture

About You

We’re looking for a confident, organised and proactive H&S professional who can build strong working relationships and positively influence operational teams. You’ll ideally have:

  • NEBOSH Certificate – Essential
  • Good working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
  • Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, production, engineering, logistics, retail or wider manufacturing environments
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations
  • Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused and hands-on approach to Health & Safety
  • Full UK Driving Licence
