The Role:

Following continued growth, our client is seeking an ambitious Accounts & Audit Semi Senior to join their Blackburn office. This role offers a balanced workload of approximately 75% audit and 25% accounts and advisory work, providing excellent exposure across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit & Compliance Work
    • Assist in the delivery of statutory audits from planning through to completion
    • Support on independent examinations (charities) and Solicitors’ Accounts Rules assignments
    • Ensure compliance with UK auditing standards (ISA UK)
  • Accounts Preparation
    • Prepare year-end financial statements in line with UK GAAP (FRS 102/FRS 105)
    • Assist with management accounts and ad hoc reporting
  • Client Exposure
    • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders from day one
    • Work directly with business owners and finance teams
    • Collaborate with tax and advisory colleagues
  • Team Development
    • Work closely with senior team members to build your experience
    • Support and mentor more junior colleagues where appropriate
    • Progress towards independent working on smaller audits

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part‑qualified (or actively studying)
  • 1–3 years’ UK accountancy practice experience, ideally within audit or a mixed role
  • Exposure to audit assignments and accounts preparation
  • Basic understanding of UK GAAP and auditing standards
  • Strong IT skills including Excel and accountancy software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A motivated, organised and career‑driven mindset

Working Arrangements
