The Role

Ready to take the next step in your service charge career? This is an opportunity to join a growing property finance function as a Service Charge Senior, managing your own portfolio of residential and/or commercial properties. You will take ownership of service charge accounts from start to finish, provide excellent client support, and play a key role in mentoring junior team members.

What you will be doing

  • Preparing and reviewing year-end service charge accounts (residential and commercial)
  • Reconciling income and expenditure, including accruals and prepayments
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients and property managers
  • Working with external stakeholders to resolve complex queries and ensure compliance
  • Supporting and reviewing the work of junior team members
  • Assisting with statutory accounts and audit queries when required
  • Keeping up to date with service charge best practice and RICS guidelines

What we are looking for

  • Experience in service charge accounting (residential, commercial or mixed)
  • AAT qualified or QBE (ACCA or ACA part-qualified is a bonus)
  • Strong understanding of service charge legislation and leaseholder requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
  • High attention to detail and strong time management across multiple deadlines
  • Confident using Excel
  • Familiarity with property management systems such as Qube, MRI or Yardi (helpful)
