Pay range: £44,228 plus £6,154 London weighting allowance.

Job type and hours: Full-time, 12-month fixed term contract with possibility to extend. Hours: 35 hours per week (open to job share applications, happy to talk flexible working). We have a flexible working policy with most staff expected to work from the office for a minimum of 50% of working hours.

About the role: Can you create impactful, viral content to help us win for working people? The TUC is looking for a dynamic Social Media Officer to join our creative and collaborative social media team. Our content regularly reaches millions, shapes debates and engages politicians, influencers and key decision‑makers. In this role, you’ll develop innovative, viral content and train and support workers to produce powerful and authentic digital content.

Responsibilities & Qualifications: You’ll have a track record of making innovative social content that makes an impact. You’ll be passionate about training up workers to produce social media — and can inspire digital confidence in people from a range of backgrounds. You’ll know what’s going viral, the creators having a big impact — and how to adopt the latest trends.

Additional Information: We’ll get to work on some of the TUC’s most innovative, groundbreaking projects and collaborate with our external project partners New Economy Organisers Network. We are open to secondments from unions or progressive organisations. Seniority level: Mid‑Senior. Employment type: Contract. Job function: Marketing and Strategy/Planning. Industries: Public Policy Offices, Marketing Services, and Advertising Services.
