We are working alongside our client, a well-established global leader in the research, development and manufacturing of complex gas sensing products and systems, in the search for Experienced Production Operators to join them on a permanent basis. You will work 39 hours per week starting around 8am and finishing around 4.30pm with an earlier finish on a Friday. Salary: £25,500.
Job Purpose
The Production Operative will report to the Manufacturing Manager, ensuring a wide range of electronic assemblies and sensors are manufactured to a high standard in line with work instructions and the production schedule. An internal and external customer focus will help achieve departmental KPIs and ensure a great customer experience.
Operational Responsibilities
- Responsible for manufacturing a wide range of gas detection products, with daily use of small hand tools, soldering irons, test gas and computer software.
- Operate gases, tools, and mechanical equipment safely according to training and company guidelines.
- Accurately follow work instructions to ensure consistent manufacturing, highlighting areas for improvement to the Production Engineering Team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in line with HSE regulations.
- Ensure that products are manufactured to high quality standards.

Requirements
Skills/Experience:
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Hands-on experience in assembly, testing, or repair of electronic/mechanical products.
- Experience in meeting production targets.
- Familiarity with standard operating procedures.
- Trained to, or understanding of IPC J-STD-001.
- Trained to, or understanding of IPC-610 & 620.
- Involvement in 5S and Kaizen activities.
