Salary: £38,000–£40,000 per annum (depending on experience) + overtime
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm (42 hours per week)

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Mobile Heavy Plant Fitter to join our growing team. This is a field-based position covering multiple customer sites across the Teesside to Scunthorpe region. The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair of a broad range of heavy plant machinery, ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest safety and performance standards. This role requires a self-motivated individual who is confident working independently while remaining closely connected to the wider operational team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service, maintain and repair heavy plant machinery including FLTs, MEWPs, tower lights and larger plant equipment
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with company schedules
- Attend breakdowns and carry out timely, effective repairs to minimise downtime
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and health and safety regulations
- Represent the company professionally when working on client sites
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Heavy Plant Fitter or similar role
- Strong all-round knowledge of plant machinery and equipment
- Experience working on heavy dumpers, including CAT 771 and 775 models
- Experience working with CAT machinery
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous experience in a mobile or field-based engineering role
