Overview
We are a growing organisation seeking a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our team. This is a hands-on role with full ownership of the Xero accounting platform, playing a key part in delivering high-quality financial information and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing meaningful financial insight and driving continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Own, manage and optimise the Xero accounting system, including integrated add-ons
- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow)
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes, including detailed variance analysis
- Manage the month-end close process, including accruals, prepayments and depreciation
- Monitor and analyse costs, providing actionable insight to support operational decision-making
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Support year-end processes and liaise with external auditors
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects, financial modelling, business cases and investment appraisals
- Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes
Requirements
- Sound understanding of management accounting principles
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial analysis capability
- Confident communicator with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Experience within hire, service or project-based environments
- Exposure to Xero Projects and/or system integrations (e.g. CRM or operational systems)
- A continuous improvement mindset with strong problem-solving skills
