About the Role:
As a Press Assistant you will work closely with a printer in a team of 2 or 3. You contribute to the smooth running of the Press and will assist the printers with a range of activities including:
· Identify tile-ups that are to be printed.
· Handling and loading plates
· Preparing and storing paper
· Changing Ink Barrels and replenishing chemicals
· Moving pallets of printed jobs and consumables to the appropriate area
· Following Health and Safety Procedures
· Cleaning, Maintenance and General Housekeeping
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- An enthusiastic approach

- A desire to be efficient and resolve issues quickly and thoroughly
Although we\’d welcome applications from experienced candidates, full training will be provided and experience is not essential.
For applicants under 19 or up to 24 who meet set criteria, we can combine this role with aModern Apprenticeship in the Printing Industry.
Applicants wishing to be considered as an apprentice must have four qualifications at National 5 level or above, including Maths and English. Core Skills for Numeracy and ICT at level 5 is desirable.
Commencing the apprenticeship after successful probation period, the successful candidates will be registered as a Modern Apprentice and will study towards a nationally recognised Scottish Vocational Qualification at level 3 that will involve a structured training programme.
This role is a permanent full-time role, we operate 24/7 and this role will work 12 hour shifts including days and nights.
