About Tradeprint

Innovative, Creative and Progressive, not words you'd normally associate with a historic industry like print, but we like to do things a little differently at Tradeprint and we hope you do too! We are a technology-led, trade printer based in Dundee, UK. As part of the Cimpress group, the largest print manufacturer in the world, we are leading the way in mass customisation. Using Ecommerce as our primary route to market, we're here to change the print world, and you can help us! With exciting plans for fast growth, we are always looking to add more dedicated, passionate and dynamic people to our remarkable team. To achieve our ambitious goals, we empower our people and they drive the business forward with creativity, enthusiasm and a fierce determination to delight our customers.

About the Role:

Please note that this is a hybrid role with 2 office days per week in Dundee, Scotland. This is your chance to take true ownership of the financial engine room of a business that's genuinely going somewhere. We're looking for an experienced, hands‑on Financial Controller who wants both the technical depth and the leadership seat, and who's ready to grow into a senior finance leadership role as we scale. Reporting to our Managing Director, you'll lead financial control, statutory reporting, tax and audit compliance, cash flow forecasting and management reporting, while managing our Finance team. You'll also work closely with colleagues across the wider Cimpress finance function on group reporting and intercompany matters. This is a genuinely hands‑on role for someone who wants to own the technical detail as well as lead a team, with a clear route to grow into a more senior finance leadership position as you develop within the business. You'll get close to the operational and manufacturing side of the business too, costing, margin, inventory and pricing, not just the numbers after the fact.

Responsibilities:

  • Owning the monthly close process, management accounts and reporting, producing analysis that shape real business decisions.
  • Leading, managing and developing our Finance team, coaching and developing individuals as well as building team capability as we grow.
  • Preparing and presenting quarterly business reviews and forecasts to senior leadership.
  • Managing group reporting and intercompany queries, working closely with our Cimpress finance colleagues.
  • Oversee credit control and new credit account approvals.
  • Partnering with budget holders and the wider leadership team on day-to-day finance queries.
  • Driving process and systems improvements across finance.
  • Costing and margin control: getting into the detail of standard costing for manufactured products, and variance analysis across material usage, labour and overhead recovery.
  • Budgeting and reforecasting, including scenario planning on growth plans, investment impacts and fluctuations in raw material cost increases.
  • Pricing and promotional support: giving product, sales and marketing teams real margin data by product category or by supplier to ensure adequate margin contribution.
  • Funding strategy: working capital management, Investment appraisal, as well as any grant funding applications.

This role offers a great opportunity to shape how finance operates as the company achieves its ambitious goals. If you feel that you would thrive within our fun, fast-paced, dynamic environment, this could be the role for you!

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in a similar role and have:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ICAS, ACCA, ICAEW or CIMA).
  • Significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance or financial control role.
  • Experience managing and developing a finance team.
  • Confident communication skills, comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • A hands‑on, detail‑focused approach to finance.

It would be great if the successful candidate had experience in the following areas, although this is not essential:

  • NetSuite, Oracle, SAP or a similar ERP system.
  • Working within a US‑owned or wider international group structure.
  • Print, manufacturing or another operationally complex business.

This role is a permanent, full‑time role, based in our Dundee Head Office with the opportunity for some hybrid working. In addition to salary, we have a range of benefits including:

  • 30-33 days holiday.
  • Birthday Day Off.
  • Volunteer Time Off.
  • Health cash plan (including optical and dental cover).
  • Life cover.
  • Employee discounts for our own products and related brands including Vistaprint.
  • A discount site including discounted gym memberships, cinema tickets and other leisure and shopping discounts.
  • Cycle to Work.
  • Recommend a Friend scheme.

We also have a values driven company culture which includes:

  • A strong focus on learning and development.
  • Recognition awards.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent.

Pay: £65000 - £85000.

Schedule: Standard office hours, Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm.

Work authorisation: United Kingdom (required).

Work Location: hybrid, with 2 office days per week in Dundee.
