We are currently working with a local, boutique and multiple award-winning property developer and bespoke housebuilder who are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join their team on an exciting high-spec residential project in Rutland. The project is a unique opportunity to be involved in the refurbishment and transformation of a Grade II Listed building, alongside the delivery of exceptional-quality residential works.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the exceptionally high standards expected by the business and its clients. You will work closely with the Project Manager, design team, subcontractors and specialist trades, coordinating the programme and ensuring quality, compliance and workmanship are maintained throughout.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day activities on site from mobilisation through to completion.
  • Coordinating subcontractors, trades and suppliers.
  • Managing programmes, sequencing and short-term planning.
  • Maintaining exceptional standards of quality and workmanship.
  • Ensuring all works are undertaken in accordance with health & safety requirements.
  • Working closely with the design and project teams to resolve technical and construction issues.
  • Managing site documentation, inspections and quality control.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants and other project stakeholders where required.
  • Ensuring the project is delivered on programme and in line with agreed specifications.
  • Maintaining a professional, organised and positive site environment.

About You

A background with a Main Contractor would be advantageous, particularly where you have experience working on high-specification residential schemes. Experience within heritage, conservation or listed-building refurbishment would be highly desirable, as would a strong trade background. A hands-on understanding of construction and high-quality workmanship will be particularly valued. You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within residential construction.
  • Experience delivering high-spec / luxury residential projects.
  • Heritage, conservation or listed-building experience.
  • Main Contractor experience.
  • A trade background or strong practical construction knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and quality.
  • The ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors effectively.
  • Relevant site management qualifications, including SMSTS and First Aid.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded, independent property developer and bespoke housebuilder with an established reputation for delivering distinctive, high-quality homes. Rather than volume housebuilding, the company focuses on quality, individuality and craftsmanship, with every project offering the opportunity to work on something genuinely bespoke. For the right Site Manager, this project offers the chance to take a key role in the delivery of an exceptional residential development, including the sensitive refurbishment of an important historic building. If you're an experienced Site Manager with a passion for quality construction, heritage projects and bespoke residential work, we’d be very interested in hearing from you.
