We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Store / Logistics Manager to join their team in Pitstone.
This is a hands-on position within a busy installation and production environment, ideal for someone with a background in warehouse, stores, logistics, manufacturing, signage or construction.
You will be responsible for keeping stock, deliveries and collections organised and ensuring materials and equipment are where they need to be when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing incoming and outgoing deliveries and checking goods against purchase and works orders.
- Maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring the warehouse is organised and clearly labelled.
- Picking, packing and preparing materials and equipment for dispatch.
- Coordinating deliveries and collections with production and installation teams.
- Booking external couriers and managing delivery documentation.
- Loading and unloading company vehicles safely and securing loads correctly.
- Carrying out local and regional deliveries and collections using company vehicles.
- Preparing installation kits, fixings and consumables for upcoming projects.
- Identifying and reporting stock discrepancies, shortages or damaged goods.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised warehouse.
- Supporting production and installation teams when required.
- Taking responsibility for company vehicles, tools, plant and stock.
- Completing daily reports covering deliveries, collections, stock movements and any issues affecting the programme.
The role is predominantly based in Pitstone, although occasional travel to supplier premises and client sites across the UK and Ireland will be required.
This can include occasional early starts, weekend work and overnight stays.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have
- Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, logistics or transport role.
- A full, clean UK driving licence – essential.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Basic IT skills, including email and stock/courier booking systems.
- Experience with stock control and logistics documentation.
- Experience booking couriers and coordinating deliveries.
- A forklift licence would be advantageous, although training may be available.
- Experience within manufacturing or construction would be beneficial.
- The ability to carry out regular manual handling.
- A practical, proactive and solution-focused approach.
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
We're looking for someone who takes ownership, pays attention to detail and understands the importance of getting things right first time.
Reliability, good communication and a positive attitude are essential.
