About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced and personable Working Supervisor to join a growing, high-end painting and decorating business.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced Painter & Decorator who enjoys working on the tools while also leading a small team.

You will supervise up to 5 decorators, ensuring projects are completed to an exceptional standard while maintaining a professional and calm approach with clients, colleagues and suppliers.

Projects will include high-spec residential properties and commercial spaces, so you must be comfortable working on busy construction sites as well as within occupied, client-facing homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, working alongside the team on high-spec decorating projects.
  • Supervise and coordinate a team of up to 5 decorators.
  • Allocate daily tasks and provide guidance and support to team members.
  • Ensure work is completed to a high standard, on time and within budget.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, colleagues and suppliers on site.
  • Communicate professionally and confidently with clients, including within occupied homes.
  • Coordinate schedules and support the smooth running of projects.
  • Identify and resolve issues proactively on site.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and respectful working environment.
  • Support team development and promote high standards of workmanship.
  • Promote sustainable and environmentally conscious working practices.

About You

  • Proven experience as a professional Painter & Decorator.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Experience working within high-end residential and/or commercial environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
  • Professional, personable and calm manner.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Organised, proactive and able to work independently.
  • Confident working across construction sites and occupied residential properties.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
  • Committed to quality, craftsmanship and sustainable working practices.
  • Valid CSCS card and SMSTS qualification.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
